PLAYS & EVENTS
2022-2023 Season
Novio Boy
“Ninth grader Rudy has a date with eleventh grader Patricia. Now he has to come up with the money, the poise, and the conversation to carry it off. This [bilingual] one-act play, by turns heartwarming and heart-wrenching, follows Rudy from his desperate search for guidance through the hilarious date itself–all the way to its happy conclusion.”
Tony & Tico's Wedding

A fresh LGBTQ+ take on the hit Tony ‘n Tina’s Wedding, this special production immerses its audience as guests at a hilarious wedding between two sweethearts, Tico and his fiancee Tony. The audience participates in all the features of a real wedding, including a reception with real food, music, and dancing. Actors mix right into the audience to perform their 20-odd (mostly) loveable characters. There are roles for all ages; the play requires actors with strong improvisation skills.
Othello (The Tragedy of Othello, the Moor of Venice) by William Shakespeare
Featuring some of Shakespeare’s most memorable tragic characters, Othello, tells the tale of a brilliant North African Christian general of the Venetian army who has won the respect and gratitude of the whole Venetian city-state. The war hero is newly married to Desdemona, daughter of one of Venice’s leading citizens. Shakespeare highlights the racial injustice of Venetian society as Othello falls prey to the envious Iago, who plays on Othello’s insecurities and drives him to the foulest of deeds.
