About Green Room Theatre
The Green Room Theatre Company (GRTC) in Palm Desert, California, now in its thirteenth season, is a highly successful 501(c)(3) organization that has brought theatre to new performers and audiences throughout the Coachella Valley, building bridges between communities and generations. Among our numerous achievements, in our last complete season we won the 2020 Desert Theatre League Desert Star awards for Outstanding Production for a staged reading of How I Learned to Drive and Outstanding Production and Outstanding Director for the youth musical Sister Act. We have weathered the pandemic with grit and flexibility, successfully holding an online summer conservatory and streaming adult readings in 2020 and 2021 until we were able to produce live shows again as of summer, 2021.

Theatre Education
Green Room Conservatory is committed to providing theatre education to students young and old, regardless of ability to pay. In the past three seasons alone, Green Room has awarded $48,115 in tuition scholarships to children and youth and $7,200 in internships to high school students. In addition, Green Room has sponsored paid internships for college students at Bennington College, Stanford University, Emory University, and CSU San Bernardino. Like many startups, we have operated on thin margins since our founding in 2009. We encourage you to join us in our mission and help us grow to the next level of services, reach new audiences, and support promising talents both young and old.
Tribal Acknowledgment
Green Room Theatre Company respectfully acknowledges that its board of directors, staff members, instructors, program participants, and patrons live, work, create, perform, and attend performances on the unceded territories of the indigenous Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, Cabazon Band of Mission Indians, Cahuilla Band of Mission Indians, Los Coyotes Band of Cahuilla Indians, Morongo Band of Mission Indians, Ramona Band of Cahuilla Indians, Santa Rosa Band of Mission Indians, and the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians. We honor and respect the many indigenous peoples connected to this land and express our admiration for their resilience and for the many important cultural leaders in the region – past, present, and future.
