The local performing arts scene is about to get a major upgrade ahead of the upcoming autumn performance cycle. The Green Room Theatre Company Coachella Valley officially announced it has secured a transformative 100,000 dollar grant from the Tammis Day Foundation earlier this month. This substantial financial infusion marks a major step forward for the non-profit organization and expands on an initial 2,500 dollar seed donation provided by the foundation back in December 2025 that first kickstarted their philanthropic partnership.
american Moor is a Hit!
“Award-winning actor Eddie Stephens has the gift. He delivers an extraordinary, non-stop performance as a seasoned Black actor (Keith) who comes to an audition for the role of Shakespeare’s Othello, secure in his conviction that he understands the character and can bring both his performing and life experiences to the role. The less-experienced, pedantic White director, stunningly portrayed by Ronald Douglass, opens the audition by making remarks in stark contrast to the actor’s perception of his character. Kaboom!”
