Prospective Board Member

Based out of the City of Coachella, California, Green Room Theatre Company/Coachella Valley Shakespeare, a 501(c)3 nonprofit theatre company in the Greater Palm Springs area, is conducting a nationwide search for qualified board members-at-large and a board secretary. 

We are a traveling theatre company and our mission is to bring professionally produced theatre and dance performances and education directly to under-resourced communities, enhancing literary, job skills, and community connections. This award-winning company is now in its 15th successful season and has both a strong professional orientation and an active career-pathway conservatory program for teens. The company is supportive of diversity and equity. We are poised to grow its service and production capacity during the coming two years. Board applicants must be at least 21 years of age with a strong interest in socially engaged live theatre. 

Board duties include, but are not limited to: Fundraising & Development; Fiscal & Financial Oversight. Marketing & promotions are all a priority. Participation in one or more standing committees; attendance at (approximately ten) weekday evening board meetings per year, and an annual one-day board retreat. Terms of service are either two or three years, starting on or before May 1, 2025.
